PELMOB

INFOTEH Conference, 5th SC meeting, 5th PMC meeting and 5th QAC meeting were held on 19-21 March 2025

In the period from March 19 to 21, the PELMOB project meeting was held as part of the international conference INFOTEH-Jahorina 2025.

According to the event agenda, the gathering began with a welcome speech for the participants and the official opening of the conference. The honor of formally declaring this year’s conference open was given to Prof. Dr. Nebojša Arsić, Rector of UPKM and Coordinator of the PELMOB project.
Following the opening ceremony, a keynote lecture was delivered on the topic “Electric Vehicles: A Sustainability Challenge and Opportunity” by Prof. Dr. Amela Ajanović from TUW, who is also a participant in the PELMOB project.
In the afternoon session, oral and poster presentations took place where some project participants presented the results of their research.
Collectively, these works contribute to understanding the complexities and opportunities of transitioning towards sustainable energy and mobility systems, ranging from fundamental modeling to practical grid integration and environmental considerations.
1. Universal modified n-diode solar cell models, M. Calasan, M. Micev, M. Radulovic (UOM)
2. Derating of dry power transformers in accordance with IEEE Std. C57.110 and EN 50541-2, M. Banjnin, M. Ikić (UES); M. Milovanović, B. Perović (UPKM)
3. A Multi-Objective Approach for Designing Passive Harmonic Filters in Unbalanced Distribution Systems, M. Milovanovic, J. Radosavljević, B. Perovic, J. Vukašinović, A. Jovanović (UPKM); M. Banjanin (UES)
4. Integration of Photovoltaic Systems into Smart Grids: Assessment of Impact on Grid Stability and Reliability, S. Zeljkovic, V. Helac, S, Hanjalic (UNSA)
5. Behaviour of Photovoltaic Power Plants in Low-Demand Power Systems, V. Helać, A. Aksamovic, S. Grebovic, S. Konjicija (UNSA)
6. Application of IT tools for environmental assessment and forecasts in road transportation, J. Marjanovic, D. Gashi, A. Osmani (IBCM)

The activities of the second day focused on the active participation of project members in the conference sessions. Prof. Dr. Reinhard Haas (TUW) delivered an invited lecture on the topic “A Market Design for Democratic and Environmentally Benign Electricity Systems.”

The third day of the conference was organized as a day for the virtual presentation of papers, for all participants who were unable to attend the conference in person. Project members had the opportunity to follow sessions 3, 4, 5, and 6, which focused on research on a novel call record archiving approach tailored for high-speed railway lines; The development of neural network models is being explored for forecasting energy consumption within energy management systems; An intelligent model is proposed for evaluating water suitability based on its chemical and biological parameters; The integration of STEM approaches in extracurricular robotics activities is being investigated to enhance digital competencies in informatics education; Efforts are underway in the design and development of an electronic system for monitoring the electrical and thermal characteristics of photovoltaic modules; The impact of AC-DC converters in extreme fast charging stations on grid quality is under evaluation.
Studies are examining the energy balance of household consumption during the winter and spring months. The assessment of load and wind power uncertainty modeling on power flow analysis for distribution systems is being conducted. Strategies for strategic energy storage allocation in distribution networks are being explored to reduce energy costs and improve voltage profiles. The effectiveness of a specialized screening system for personalized learning and its impact on student performance optimization is undergoing statistical evaluation. Finally, students’ attitudes towards the use of artificial intelligence in higher education are being assessed.
